How to Generate & Share Variants
Once a page has been analyzed and experiment has been created, you can generate the actual variants to be tested and export to be shared within your teams.
Step 1: Open an approved experiment in the Backlog
- From the Home screen, click View Backlog in the "Experiment Backlog" card, or click Backlog in the left sidebar.
- Find and click on an approved experiment card (e.g., "Make Hero Offer Explicit").
Step 2: View the variant generation screen
- The experiment opens in the Lupine Lab view with "Visualize your ideas in action" at the top.
- You'll see three cards side by side:
-
- CONTROL — The original/baseline state of the page.
- VAR A — The first proposed variation
- VAR B — The second proposed variation
Step 3: Generate a variant
- Click the Generate button on the VAR A or VAR B card.
- The platform will show an animated progress indicator with status messages like "Applying spatial rules...", "Adjusting typography scale...", and "Syncing interaction states..." as it renders the visual variant.
Step 4: Review the generated variant
- Once complete, the variant card will display a visual rendering of the modified page.
- You can click the star icon in the top-right corner of a variant card to mark it as a favorite.
Step 5: View the implementation spec
- Click Show spec on any variant card to expand the detailed, developer-ready implementation specification.
- This includes exact copy changes, layout instructions, responsive behavior (desktop vs. mobile), spacing requirements, and design constraints.
- Click Hide spec to collapse it.
Step 6: Export or share
- Use the Export button in the top-right corner of the experiment page to export the experiment details and variants for your team.
- Use View in Analysis (top-right) to jump back to the original analysis that generated the experiment.
