Lupine Credits, Plans, and Billing

Lupine uses a credit-based system for analyses. This article explains how free credits work, how plan allowances are applied, how to purchase additional credits, and how credit balances are consumed.

Start with 300 Free Credits

Every new Lupine account receives 300 free credits.

    • The Free tier has no expiration date.
    • Your free credits never expire.
    • There is no cutoff.
    • No credit card is required to get started.
    • You can use your free credits whenever you're ready.

With 300 free credits and an average cost of 100 credits per analysis, you can complete approximately 3 analyses on the Free tier.

Understand Credit Expiration and Usage Order

Monthly plan credits and purchased top-up credits follow different rules.

Credit Usage Order

Lupine always uses credits in the following order:

    • Monthly plan credits
    • Top-up credits

Your recurring monthly allocation is consumed first. Top-up credits are only used after your monthly plan balance reaches zero.

Monthly Plan Credits

    • Available with Growth and Scale subscriptions.
    • Reset at the start of each billing cycle.
    • Unused monthly credits do not roll over.
    • Expire when replaced by the next monthly allocation.

Top-Up Credits

    • Purchased separately from your subscription plan.
    • Used only after monthly plan credits are exhausted.
    • Never expire.
    • Remain in your wallet even if you:
      • Cancel your subscription
      • Pause your subscription
      • Downgrade your subscription

    Example

    Suppose you have:

      • 100 monthly plan credits
      • 300 top-up credits

    When you run your next analysis:

      • Lupine uses the 100 monthly plan credits first.
      • Once the monthly balance reaches 0, Lupine begins using the 300 top-up credits.
      • Any unused top-up credits remain available indefinitely.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Does the Free tier expire after 14 days?

    No. There is no cutoff on the Free tier. Your one-time 300-credit allowance never expires, allowing you to complete your analyses at your own pace.

    Do unused monthly credits roll over?

    No. Growth and Scale plan credits do not roll over. Any unused monthly credits expire when your billing cycle renews and the new monthly allocation is applied.

    Can I buy top-up credits without a paid subscription?

    No. Top-up credit packs are only available to customers with an active paid plan.

    Will I lose my top-up credits if I cancel or downgrade?

    No. Purchased top-up credits never expire and remain available in your wallet even if you cancel, pause, or downgrade your subscription.
